I have been licensed to practice law in California since 1995 wherein I gained an extensive background in and knowledge of contracts, including both the drafting and interpretation of commercial contracts. My California practice concentrated on insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. Since joining the Arizona Bar in January 2013, I have used the knowledge and experience gained in the commercial sector to assist families and small business owners with every day and more unusual needs.
My practice now includes the formation of all types of small businesses, assistance with legal issues faced by business owners such as lease negotiations, drafting employment and independent contractor issues such and the like, and advice on asset protection. Additionally, I assist individuals and families with their estate planning needs, which includes the drafting of wills and trusts and related documents such as powers of attorney and minor guardianship. I am happy to offer counsel and advice on a variety of situations that an individual may face based in contract, from understanding a time-share contract to seeking recovery under a moving contract for items damaged in transit.
I help clients navigate and understand the complex and often frustrating judicial system. As a litigator, I have seen how courts have treated many types of business documents and estate planning provisions, and use that experience to assist my clients in achieving their goals.
I have been in private practice since 2001, after graduating from Seattle University School of Law cum laude. Prior to law school, I served as a Naval Officer from 1992 - 1999 and then practiced as a Certified Public Accountant before deciding to focus solely on practicing law.
I am also a NRA Certified Instructor for Pistol, Rifle, and Personal Protection in the Home, as well as a NRA Certified Range Safety Officer.
I am licensed in both Arizona and Washington State, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona.
